  • 2026-07-29 — Cowork now works on the web. Selecting Cowork on the composer's Chat | Cowork toggle puts claude.ai into task mode, with a Project selector and a Manually approve control.   • 2026-07-29 — The Thinking toggle is gone; Effort absorbed it. The model picker's Effort submenu is now the only reasoning control, and it has a fifth level: Low · Medium · High · Extra · Max. High is now the default (it was Low). Verified live on claude.ai and on desktop 1.24012.9. extended-thinking
  • 2026-07-29 — Correction to today's earlier entry. Research, Web search and Add from GitHub are not missing from the composer — all three sit in the + menu. The desktop sweep read them as gone for two reasons, both measurement error: it ran with the composer in Cowork mode, whose + menu genuinely differs from Chat's, and the menu populates progressively, so the snapshot was taken before it finished rendering. Use style is genuinely gone, from both desktop and claude.ai. In Chat mode the + menu reads: Add files or photos · Take a screenshot · Add to project · Add from GitHub · Skills · Connectors · Plugins · Research · Web search. chat-composer
  • 2026-07-29 — The composer toolbar has been reworked. The + menu now reads Add files or photos / Record a skill / Skills / Connectors / Plugins. Use style is no longer a top-level entry. (Add from GitHub is absent too, but that entry is connector-dependent — it reflects account configuration, not a product change.) A Chat | Cowork toggle now sits inside the composer. The model picker lists Fable 5, Opus 5, Sonnet 5 and Haiku 4.5, each with a one-line description, plus Effort and More models. Claude Design now carries a Labs badge in the sidebar.   • 2026-07-29 — [web-sweep] claude.ai has adopted the Home | Code nav. The 12 Jul sweep explicitly recorded that it had not — it has now. The Cowork sidebar entry is gone and /discover/cowork no longer shows the "Open in desktop app" hand-off; the composer now shows a Chat | Cowork radio pair instead. Cowork itself is still not available on the web — web.status stays not-available. Web sidebar is Projects · Artifacts · Scheduled · Customize — no Dispatch, still desktop-only. claude.ai/customize now opens the settings dialog rather than a standalone page. The web model picker reads Opus 5 High while desktop 1.24012.9 still reads Opus 4.8 High — web is ahead. Design carries the same Labs badge as desktop.   • 2026-07-12 — Desktop navigation overhaul. The separate Chat and Cowork top-level tabs have merged into a single Home surface; the top-level nav is now a Home | Code toggle. Cowork tasks start from Home → New, and each session runs in a local Cowork VM (managed from Help → Troubleshooting; files under Settings → Cowork).   • 2026-07-12 — [web-sweep] Live MCP re-verification of claude.ai — sidebar (Home · Chats · Projects · Artifacts · Customize · Code · Cowork · Design), the /new composer, /discover/cowork (still a hand-off with Open in desktop app; web.status stays not-available), /code, /design, /customize, /settings/connectors (still redirects to Customize), /projects, /artifacts. No material web drift. One change: the composer now defaults to Fable 5 ("Fable 5 High"). Incognito present. Source poll: 0 changed.   • 2026-07-29 — [desktop-sweep] Verified Claude desktop v1.24012.9 across 36 features (17 version-bumped, 6 unchanged, 9 possible-drift). Codename changes: +33/-2 (operon, floatingAtoll removed; baseline is 2026-04-21, so this overlaps the +26 reported on 2026-07-12). First sweep to reach 27/27 surfaces with 0 skips — the walker had been blind to the Home | Code nav since 1.20186.1, Settings was unreachable because /settings/* now 302s to /new, and visible_buttons never collected role="menuitem", so the composer + menu, model picker and account menu had never been captured at all. Real findings: + menu now Add files or photos / Record a skill / Skills / Connectors / Plugins, with Use style no longer a top-level entry (Add from GitHub is connector-dependent, so its absence is account state, not drift); model picker lists Fable 5 / Opus 5 / Sonnet 5 / Haiku 4.5 plus Effort; composer gained a Chat | Cowork toggle; Design carries a Labs badge; Settings gained Customize → Skills / Connectors / Plugins. No "Web search", "Research", "Thinking" or incognito control was found anywhere — four documented paths that no longer resolve.
