  • 2026-10-07 — voice-mode: Use voice mode is present in both unified composers. Settings → General still exposes Language, Style and Speed; a voice conversation was not started.

  • 2026-10-07 — skills: Skills Discover and Add skill remain available on both platforms. Record a skill is visible in the unified desktop + menu; no recording or installation was performed.

  • 2026-10-07 — settings: The rail adds Design systems, Reflect and Time and focus; desktop settings are grouped under This computer → System/Extensions/Developer. Instructions for Claude is visibly in Account, differing from the current help-guide path. Partial/loading states remain unverified.

  • 2026-10-07 — search: The sidebar Search control opens a dialog on both desktop and web with All, Artifacts, Sessions, Code, Projects and Scheduled filters, plus a New session action. Searches of private records were not performed.

  • 2026-10-07 — memory: The three memory switches and Start import are present on both platforms; desktop also shows an Areas heading. Personal memory content and editing were not inspected.

  • 2026-10-07 — incognito-mode: The Use incognito entry is present on both unified homes; the resulting incognito view was not opened.

  • 2026-10-07 — extended-thinking: The inspected Opus 5.5 effort menu labels Medium as Recommended and Max as 4× or more usage on desktop and web. Other model defaults were not inspected.

  • 2026-10-07 — dispatch: Dispatch remains present for this existing user, with settings and outputs controls. Its master switch is under This computer → System; new-user availability still follows the rollout guidance.

  • 2026-10-07 — directory: Inspected Skills, Plugins and Connectors Discover on both platforms. Skills/Plugins show featured Data and For you packs; Connectors shows a curated carousel and Top connectors.

  • 2026-10-07 — cowork-overview: Updated home navigation and separated project scope from the Manual/Auto permission control after inspecting both platforms.

  • 2026-10-07 — cowork-home: Both homes show unified conversations, model/effort and permission controls; Project or folder on desktop becomes Project on web. No separate Chat/Cowork selector is shown on this account.

  • 2026-10-07 — connectors: Replaced the old connector breadcrumb/role-selector description with the inspected Discover carousel and controls. Authorization and filter options were not exercised.

  • 2026-10-07 — computer-use: The controls are now under This computer → System and remain badged Beta. Background / Full control, app denials and permission rows were inspected without enabling or exercising computer use.

  • 2026-10-07 — claude-design: Design navigation now opens an artifact-based gallery with Slides, Design, Design in codebase and Design System cards, plus a link to the standalone homepage. Creation/editing remains source-backed rather than exercised.

  • 2026-09-13 — Which research tool to use: Web search and Research are tick-box items in the composer’s + menu, and extended thinking is the model picker’s Effort setting. The web-search prerequisite and the faster limit burn are restored, sourced to “Use Research on Claude”.

  • 2026-09-13 — Web Search: it's a tick-box in the composer + menu, not a tools-slider toggle, and it's absent in Cowork mode. Workspace enablement is Organization settings → Capabilities.

  • 2026-09-13 — Voice mode: now available on desktop. The Use voice mode button sits on the desktop Chat composer on build 1.52386.3, and Anthropic's article lists Claude Desktop alongside web and mobile. platforms.desktop.status promoted from not-available to covered.

  • 2026-09-13 — Voice mode: no longer English-only — Anthropic's article says many more languages are supported, with non-English support itself in beta.

  • 2026-09-13 — Visual and interactive content: corrected — custom visuals do work in Cowork sessions. What Cowork lacks is sharing and click-to-follow-up. Added the sports text-only and interactive-input placement details.

  • 2026-09-13 — Use style: the composer entry point is gone on desktop and web in both composer modes, and no replacement location is confirmed. The page is marked deprecated (still covered, so readers can see what changed); the stale walkthrough video removed.

  • 2026-09-13 — The chat composer: the seeded prompt chips (Write, Learn, Code, From Calendar, From Gmail) are gone from around the composer on desktop and web. On the web the only tabs left on /new are Project and Manual, in Cowork mode.

  • 2026-09-13 — The chat composer: Memory joins Research and Web search as a third tick-box in the + menu. The desktop menu has nine entries and no Take a screenshot; the web menu has ten and keeps it. Chat file uploads are now 500 MB per file.

  • 2026-09-13 — Skills: managed from the Customize page's Yours/Discover tabs; Record a skill is in the Cowork composer + menu; the skill file is lowercase skill.md.

  • 2026-09-13 — Sharing a chat: the July drift note is resolved — Share is in the conversation header of an open chat, not in the window chrome. Settings → Privacy also carries a separate Shared artifacts row.

  • 2026-09-13 — Settings: the rail is grouped (Settings · Desktop app · Customize · Platform) with a Search settings box; Memory and Cowork get their own panes; the Customize rows route to #customize/….

  • 2026-09-13 — Search: search is a modal on both platforms, not a claude.ai/search page, and the field reads Search chats and projects — it covers projects too.

  • 2026-09-13 — Scheduled tasks: tasks now run in the cloud by default and keep their cadence with your computer asleep; only tasks that need your machine still require it awake. The page is at Sidebar → Scheduled / claude.ai/scheduled-task (not claude.ai/code/routines) and ships six starter templates. Claude Code routines are documented as the separate system they are.

  • 2026-09-13 — Research: it's a tick-box in the composer + menu, not a dedicated button, and it's absent in Cowork mode. Dropped the unsourced claim that Research turns extended thinking on.

  • 2026-09-13 — Projects: chat projects and Cowork projects are now one list ("Projects made in Chat and Cowork are now all in one place"). Projects save to your Claude account unless created from a local folder; sharing levels are now Can view / Can edit; RAG for projects is paid-plans only.

  • 2026-09-13 — Plugins: available on the web as well as desktop and Cowork — platforms.web.status moves from not-available to covered.

  • 2026-09-13 — Pick a model: removed the walkthrough video — recorded 4 May 2026, two line-ups out of date.

  • 2026-09-13 — Pick a model: Fable 5.1 tops the line-up above Opus 5, Sonnet 5 and Haiku 4.5, with Fable 5, Opus 4.8, 4.7, 4.6, Opus 3 and Sonnet 4.6 under More models. Desktop and web now show an identical menu.

  • 2026-09-13 — Memory: moved out of Settings → Capabilities into its own Settings → Memory pane, with You/Topics sections, three switches and a natural-language editor.

  • 2026-09-13 — Incognito mode: on the web it is now a full-screen mode at /new?incognito= with a "You're incognito" heading, a dashed-border composer and an Exit incognito button. The desktop ghost icon is confirmed in Chat mode and absent in Cowork.

  • 2026-09-13 — Image generation: re-checked against Anthropic's articles; behaviour unchanged. Made explicit that there is no control for this anywhere in the interface.

  • 2026-09-13 — File Creation: the Capabilities switch is now Cloud code execution and file creation and states it is required for skills.

  • 2026-09-13 — Extended thinking: the Effort Default marker sits on Medium, not High. Five levels on both platforms and in both composer modes.

  • 2026-09-13 — Dispatch: the documented path was wrong for two builds — it is Sidebar → Dispatch, not "Cowork sidebar → Dispatch". The view gained a Mobile notifications switch, a Show folder button on Outputs and a message box of its own, and there is a master switch at Settings → Cowork → Dispatch. Anthropic now describes Dispatch as a limited beta for Pro and Max.

  • 2026-09-13 — Directory: the directory is now the Discover tab of each Customize section, with For you / New / Most installed rows and a category grid.

  • 2026-09-13 — Customize: a full page again on both platforms, landing on /customize/skills/discover, with Skills | Connectors | Plugins and Yours | Discover tab rows. Styles are gone from the page and from the composer + menu.

  • 2026-09-13 — Cowork: sessions now run in the cloud on Anthropic's servers, with the desktop app acting as the bridge to local files, the browser and your screen — the local-VM description is gone. Cowork on the web moves from stub to covered: it is a Beta-badged composer mode on Pro, Max and Team (Enterprise where an admin enables it), with Project / Manual scoping and an Active tray. Web and mobile sessions are now captured in the Compliance API.

  • 2026-09-13 — Cowork — home and task detail: there is no separate Cowork home any more — you flip the composer's Chat | Cowork toggle on the ordinary New surface. Web moves from stub to covered (Beta pill, Project / Manual tabs, Active tray). The unverifiable three-column task-detail walkthrough has been removed.

  • 2026-09-13 — Connectors: Customize → Connectors has its own directory with a status filter and a role selector; custom connectors are on every plan (Free capped at one); claude.ai/settings/connectors is now a stub.

  • 2026-09-13 — Computer Use: the toggle is Enable computer use in a Beta-badged Computer use section, and gains a Background / Full control choice plus a Denied apps list.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude in Chrome: the side panel now runs as a Cowork session on Max and Team, and the permission modes are renamed and expanded to three — Manually approve, Automatically approve, Skip all approvals.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude in Chrome: the Beta badge has gone from the Claude in Chrome settings pane, whose controls are an Enable Claude in Chrome switch, a Default for all sites dropdown and a Blocked sites table.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude for Office: Excel, PowerPoint and Word are now generally available, a Claude for Outlook add-in has shipped in beta, and the six help articles have moved to claude.com/docs/office-agents.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude Security: now a public beta for Enterprise plans at claude.ai/security, with GitHub Enterprise Server support and scans running on Claude Mythos 5.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude Mobile: iOS now requires iOS 18, Claude sets Android alarms and timers directly, the location tool is unavailable to Team and Enterprise members, and voice mode is documented as multi-language across mobile, desktop and web.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude Design: it is a beta, not a research preview, and it is no longer metered separately — design usage draws on the same limits as the rest of Claude, so the per-plan allowance table and its now-404 pricing source have gone. The Labs badge has left the desktop sidebar row; the wordmark carries Beta. The home view is a composer plus a fourteen-tile template gallery, not the old Designs / Examples / Design systems tab set. Export now includes Figma and Adobe.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude Code: the desktop Code tab is now one half of a two-position Mode toggle (Chat and Cowork / Code) with its own trimmed sidebar.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude Code: auto is now the built-in starting permission mode on Pro, Max and Team, with a classifier screening each tool call; the review-everything mode is labelled Manual.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude Code (web): claude.ai/code now starts sessions in Auto permission mode, and its landing chrome — environment pill, Add repository picker, prompt box — is documented for the first time.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude Code (web): --cloud replaces --remote, follow-ups can be queued into a running session, sessions can route to a self-hosted environment, and the branch-push and sharing rules are documented differently.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude Code (desktop): the top-level toggle reads Chat and Cowork | Code, and the Code sidebar's first row is New, not "New session". The page now covers what the docs describe: sessions run Local, Cloud, SSH or WSL, the workspace is arrangeable panes (chat, diff, browser, terminal, file editor) plus an iOS Simulator, Claude can act on your other sessions, and Routines creates cloud routines or local scheduled tasks.

  • 2026-09-13 — Claude Code (CLI): Shift+Tab now cycles four permission modes, /btw, /rewind, /diff and /simplify are documented, --cloud replaces --remote, and the unsupported 1M-context and /model opusplan claims have been removed.

  • 2026-09-13 — Beta and research preview: table rebuilt from the 7 July 2026 article — Claude in Chrome and Claude Desktop are out, Claude Managed Agents and Claude for Word are in.

  • 2026-09-13 — Artifacts: the gallery gained All / Pinned / Yours / Shared with you tabs and a New artifact button; /artifacts/my now redirects to /artifacts, and an artifact opens at /code/artifact/{id}. Artifacts now run in Cowork too, and the Remix button for viewers is gone.

  • 2026-09-13 — Add from GitHub: present in the Chat-mode + menu on desktop and web, absent in Cowork mode. The 2026-07-29 report that it had been removed was a mode artefact, not a product change.

  • 2026-09-13 — Add files or photos: the chat upload limit is now 500 MB per file (was 30 MB), and PDFs over 1000 pages can no longer be uploaded at all.

  • 2026-07-29 — Cowork now works on the web. Selecting Cowork on the composer's Chat | Cowork toggle puts claude.ai into task mode, with a Project selector and a Manually approve control.   • 2026-07-29 — The Thinking toggle is gone; Effort absorbed it. The model picker's Effort submenu is now the only reasoning control, and it has a fifth level: Low · Medium · High · Extra · Max.   • 2026-07-29 — Correction to today's earlier entry. Research, Web search and Add from GitHub are not missing from the composer — all three sit in the + menu. The desktop sweep read them as gone for two reasons, both measurement error: it ran with the composer in Cowork mode, whose + menu genuinely differs from Chat's, and the menu populates progressively, so the snapshot was taken before it finished rendering. Use style is genuinely gone, from both desktop and claude.ai.   • 2026-07-29 — The composer toolbar has been reworked. The + menu now reads Add files or photos / Record a skill / Skills / Connectors / Plugins. Use style is no longer a top-level entry. (Add from GitHub is absent too, but that entry is connector-dependent — it reflects account configuration, not a product change.) A Chat | Cowork toggle now sits inside the composer.   • 2026-07-29 — [web-sweep] claude.ai has adopted the Home | Code nav. The 12 Jul sweep explicitly recorded that it had not — it has now. The Cowork sidebar entry is gone and /discover/cowork no longer shows the "Open in desktop app" hand-off; the composer now shows a Chat | Cowork radio pair instead. Cowork itself is still not available on the web — web.status stays not-available. Web sidebar is Projects · Artifacts · Scheduled · Customize — no Dispatch, still desktop-only. claude.ai/customize now opens the settings dialog rather than a standalone page. The web model picker reads Opus 5 High while desktop 1.24012.9 still reads Opus 4.8 High — web is ahead. Design carries the same Labs badge as desktop.   • 2026-07-12 — Desktop navigation overhaul. The separate Chat and Cowork top-level tabs have merged into a single Home surface; the top-level nav is now a Home | Code toggle. Cowork tasks start from Home → New, and each session runs in a local Cowork VM (managed from Help → Troubleshooting; files under Settings → Cowork).
